Description

A very varied role in the Finance Business Partnering Team, working with Finance and with contact with many of the Councils departments
Opportunity to use and develop Business Partnering skills in a friendly and supportive environment
Duties are as follows:
A variety of data input in Integra (General Ledger) - numerical and narrative
Analysis of General Ledger Codes to answer queries from Finance Team or from Budget Holders
Analysing budget variances as required
Preparing monthly reporting timetables and distributing to Finance Team and budget Holders
Preparing journals for input to General Ledger
Running reports from General Ledger and sending them to Budget Holders and Service Owners periodically to a timetable and as required
Managing electronic filing and assisting with GDPR compliance
Maintaining/updating wages and salary forecast spreadsheets as required by Finance Business Partners
Preparing Board report templates (Excel and Powerpoint) and assisting with completion/checking
Maintaining schedules of Grants and Reserves
Preparation of budget adjustment and virement documents and ensuring correct approvals have been obtained and filed
Diarising meetings for Finance Business Partners and booking rooms and other resources as required
Other duties to support the Finance Business Partners and Manager

Skills and competencies - Essential
Good working knowledge of finance / accounts procedures
Competent use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint (Intermediate)
Experience of handling confidential and sensitive data, understanding of GDPR
Understand importance of team work and knowledge sharing
Methodical with good attention to detail
Able to perform data input with accuracy
Good organisational skills
Friendly calm communicator with experience working with non Finance people
Good general office administration skills
Experience of using accounting software
GCSE Maths and English language
Skills and Competencies - Desirable
AAT (level 3 plus) is an advantage
