We have an exciting opportunity available for a Communications Manager to join our team based in Brighton. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, we are offering a competitive salary of £28,000 - £30,700 per annum.

About the role:

As our Communications Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high quality communications and marketing across all physical sites and online channels, to increase student awareness and engagement of Brighton Students’ Union and its activities.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Communications Manager:

- Responsible for ensuring all Brighton Students’ Union’s marketing and communication channels are up to date and contain relevant and appropriate materials
- Ensure BSU are utilising all current and relevant communication channels to maintain the maximum reach to potential and current students
- Develop and deliver a communications strategy to support BSU’s strategic plan
- Support and develop the Union’s student-led student media channels alongside media volunteers
- Responsible for the recruitment, induction and ongoing training of all team members, in close liaison with the HR Department
- Work in a manner which reflects the values and democratic structure of the Union as shown in the Union’s Articles and Strategic Plan

Skills and experience required to be our Communications Manager:

- Degree in relevant field, or related qualification, or extensive proven experience
- Creating engaging and targeted communications for specific groups
- Leading on successful marketing campaigns, including planning, delivery and evaluation
- Good understanding of GDPR and its effect on communications and marketing
- Experience of managing and developing a website with associated software
- Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously, often with competing deadlines
- Experience managing a small team of staff or volunteers
